Our Cooks offer a wide variety of excellent home cooking and baking, and also cater for any special diets or individual tastes. Food is prepared from fresh ingredients on a daily basis, using local produce as available.
Meals can be eaten in our beautiful dining room, which in itself makes each mealtime something to look forward to. Alternatively meals can be served in the privacy of a resident’s room.

Since the catering plays a major part of a Cooriedoon day and for many is the part most looked forward to, below is a selection of our meals.

Our catering staff follow a 4 weekly rotational menu which has been assessed as nutritionally balanced, but has plenty of treats within it!

We are members of The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) and utilise their publication "Menu Planning and Special Diets in Care Homes

Care is taken to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with parties and invites to friends and relatives.
If relatives would like us to provide a buffet for a special occasion, that can be arranged.
Christmas, Easter, Halloween & Bonfire Night are always occasions for festivity and fun.
Social nights are held nightly in the dining room (bring your own bottle!).

Activities take place every afternoon e.g. Ten pin bowling, dominoes, visiting musicians, trips in the minibus, outings to a local pub, but you are free to watch TV/videos if that is your preference.

Also popular national events such as Wimbledon offer an opportunity for strawberries and a glass or two of bubbly and our summer barbecues are always sold out!

*Respite care is an essential and valuable need for many elderly people and their families. Many people do not require long term care, and would benefit greatly from a ‘holiday’ in secure surroundings where they can relax and allow others to care for them.
Also, many families who are caring for an elderly relative benefit from this service as they are getting a break at the same time as their relative.
Convalescence at Cooriedoon after an illness or a stay in hospital is also extremely beneficial. You can regain your strength and recuperate with expert help and support around you.
